- CREED- Creed of the UX warrior- In times of great risk and uncertainty, a special breed of warrior awaits to represent our user. A common designer with an uncommon will to succeed. Forged by adversity, they collaborate across teams and disciplines to de-risk business ideas, address unmet needs, and improve our user’s quality of life. I am that warrior. - Voluntarily, I accept the responsibilities of my profession and place the welfare and security of our users before my own. My ability to endure ambiguity and navigate complexity is what sets me apart. I expect to lead and be led. In the absence of orders, I shall take charge, lead my teammates and accomplish our mission. - The lives of our users and the success of our mission depend on my technical skill, tactical proficiency, and attention to detail. Thus, my training is never complete. In the worst of conditions, enabling our users to shape the tools that shape their lives guides my every deed. If I fail, I adapt and iterate every time. I will not quit.
- PROCESS- The tip of your UX spear1- OBSERVE- Uncover user pain-points and underserved needs 2- ORIENT- Identify competitor strengths and key weaknesses 3- DECIDE- Address competitor flaws and unmet user needs 4- ACT- Evaluate problem-solution fit and overall usability
- Out-manoeuvre your competitors with OODA.
- BENEFITS- Good UX is good for business- Good UX increases your revenueIf new app / website users can't find what they are looking for within the first few seconds, you won't make sales. Worse? If competitors do a better job, you'll lose customers.- Good UX saves you moneyGet user feedback on prototypes early in your design process to find and fix usability issues cheaply before they become time-consuming support requests after you go live.- Good UX reduces your risk of failureQuickly build cheap, no-code prototypes of new product and service ideas to user test before investing time and money in development only to get it wrong after the fact.- Good UX prevents lawsuitsViolating government-mandated accessibility standards, even if by accident, leaves you vulnerable. Don't get sued for not adequately catering to somebody's disability.- Good UX is a competitive advantage- Leverage user research to better understand emerging user needs and track trends over time. Use this to build products of the future to cement your place in the market. - Good UX can literally save lives- In a famous case of bad UX, a hospital patient in the US nearly died after being administered 34 x their recommended dose of antibiotics due to an ambiguous form design.
